This mushroom rug is a hand tufted rug that was created using rya tie fabric and an assortment of thrifted craft yarns.
This rug was my very first attempt at rug tufting using the rya tie technique. I created this rug by designing an image on the open faced fabric and filled it in using the yarns I found while thrifting. My favorite part of this design is the dome shape above the mushroom. This wasn't part of the original design but I think it adds a really intriguing shape to the rectangular rug.
